雅各書 1:17節說：「各樣美善的恩賜和各樣全備的賞賜都是從上頭來的，從眾光之父那裡降下來的，...」。我們知道天父賜給世人許多美好的恩賜，但超越這一切的美好恩賜是祂的獨生愛子耶穌。我們知道上帝愛我們，因為祂賜下了祂的獨生愛子在十字架上成就了救贖恩典，使我們這罪人因信稱義，能與神和好，回復祂起初造人的和諧關係，使人得永生。
約翰福音 3:16節說：「神愛世人，甚至將祂的獨生子賜給他們，叫一切信祂的不致滅亡，反得永生。」
創造萬物的造物主以嬰孩的身份進入人間，自己道成肉身。儘管世人不明白, 不珍惜這恩典，但祂卻是人類最好且最需要的禮物。
人類因為背棄了神，罪已經進入了世界，使我們處於上帝憤怒和絕境。我們迫切需要罪得赦免，免於神的審判，洗淨我們的罪。主耶穌的降生就是為了這些因相信並接受祂教恩的人，在十字架上獻上了自己成就了這大恩。
神將獨生愛子主耶穌賜給我們就是那最好最需要的禮物，但並不僅於此。當我們相信基督的救恩時，就成為天父的兒女，神應允在天上我們將得到榮耀的基業。同樣，聖靈也會引領我們在世上過敬虔的生活。
若是我們已經憑信心接受了上帝賜給我們這這美好且最需要的禮物，因信稱義蒙恩得救，理當，我們就不應該將僅僅是在形式上，只是在聖誕節期間才去紀念祂、親近祂。
作為相信基督救恩之人，得到了基督永恆的拯救這完美的禮物，我們當然有理由在這聖誕感恩的季節，歡愉地慶祝救主基督的降世。又是一個忙碌的聖誕季節，面臨數日排滿了的聚會、歡樂，互贈禮物。然而，這段時間對相信基督救恩的人來說應有其節日的特別意義，我們的任務是要將這個節日的原意與周圍的人分享。將我們喜樂的源頭告訴他們，使人也接受救恩這大好恩典被上帝的愛所吸引，讓世人同樣得著這最好、最需要的禮物，同享永恆的救贖，成為神的兒女，度過這個普世歡騰的日子。讓我們好好地把握這機會把福音廣傳！阿們！

The Best and Most Wanted Gift ~Pastor Bernie Chung
James 1:17a (NIV) says, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights." We know that our Heavenly Father has given many wonderful gifts to the world, but the gift that surpasses them all is His only Son, Jesus. We know that God loves us because He gave His only begotten Son to accomplish the grace of redemption on the cross, so that we, the sinners, can be justified by faith, reconciled with God by restoring the harmonious relationship we had with him when he first created man in the first place, and to receive the gift of eternal life.
John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." The Creator who created all things entered the world as a baby and became flesh himself. Although the world does not understand and appreciate this grace, Jesus is the best and most needed gift for mankind.
Sin has entered the world because humans have turned their backs on God, putting themselves at the mercy of God's wrath. We desperately need forgiveness of sins, freedom from God's judgment, and repentance. The birth of the Lord Jesus is important for those who would believe in our Lord’s teachings and accept the grace of salvation and having the knowledge that Christ offered Himself on the cross to accomplish this unending grace.
God gave us his only begotten son, the Lord Jesus, to be our best and most needed gift; but there is more. When we believe in Christ as our savior, we become our Heavenly Father’s children. The Holy Spirit will lead us to live godly lives on earth, while glorious inheritance awaits us in heaven.
If we truly have accepted by faith this wonderful and most needed gift from God, and were justified by faith and saved by grace, should we only ritually acknowledge Jesus during Christmas time? Of course not! We should praise and draw close to him every day.
As Christians who have believed and accepted the salvation of Christ, the perfect gift from God, we certainly have reasons to joyfully celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ during Christmas season with thanksgiving. For most people, it’s going to be another busy Christmas season with many days of shopping, partying, fun, and gift-giving. However, this period of time should have its special significance for those of us who believe in Christ. It is our duty to share the original meaning of this festive season with those around us. We should share with them the source of our joy and lead them to Christ. This is our perfect opportunity to “go and tell it on the mountains” that Jesus Christ is born. We pray that all the non-believers will be attracted by God’s love to accept the great grace of salvation. May the good news spread and this most needed gift be shared throughout the world. Amen!
