牧者心聲 Pastor's Message

Have you ever played the game White Elephant? It’s a
wonderful game where, just like any other game, some people
loose, and others win. It’s a game. It’s funny to watch when
someone “wins” the worst gift, and right at the very end finishes
the game with the best gift. Then there are those that try to bring
the worst gift and leave with the best gift. I’ve often wondered
about what would happen if a small kid played with adults. Would
the adults really take away a good gift from a small kid? The entire
game is a mystery, that’s why it’s so fun. You never know what
you’re gonna get! In a way, Jesus’ birth was like a White Elephant
party. God gave us His Son, the best gift anybody could ever bring
to the world, and then, well, we bring our gifts to God. There’s no
way we could ever match God’s gift of Jesus to us. But luckily, God,
being Who He is, has done something for us that we could never
do for ourselves: “For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He
will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.” (Psalm 149:4 NASB)
When we all get to Heaven, and have a big ol’ party together, just
remember, God has brought the best gift of all, and not only that,
but He takes pleasure in us through the salvation of His gift to us:
Jesus our Savior!
Be blessed as we continue to celebrate Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior!
