牧者心聲 Pastor's Message

The “Great Commission” has become the “Great Omission”!
For whatever reason, excuse, theology, complacent
ideology, Jesus telling us to “go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything He has
commanded us” has been “omitted” from the lives of Christians in
the church. Perhaps it’s the fault of the leaders in the church.
Perhaps it’s a lack of true Biblical teaching in the church. Perhaps
the church is filled with “discipleless disciples”. Does anybody in
the church these days know what it means to be a disciple? Do
people really think that being a Christian and being a disciple are
two different things? If you are a Christian, you are called to be a
disciple of Christ. If you are a disciple of Christ, you are called to
“go” and make other disciples. If you are a member of the church,
you are to be a disciple of Christ. There is no “omission” from this.
This is a new season for our church. If you have never been
discipled, now is the time. If you are a Christian, then now is the
time to obey the call to the “Great Commission”. Now is the time
to start up evangelism teams and prayer teams. If we really want
to see our church grow, then let’s be a part of the “Great
Commission”. Otherwise we have fallen into the “Great Omission!”
Pray about this, come talk to Ben and myself! Be challenged this
week to not live a Christian life of complacency! Let’s be a part of
God’s “Kingdom Come!”
Love, Brother John J.
