牧者心聲 Pastor's Message
10/11/2009
This week I was at Stonestown mall walking around. As I
was crossing the crosswalk in front of the mall, an elderly lady
asked me if I could help her cross the road. She took my arm and
off we went when the light turned green. The problem was the
interval for crossing the crosswalk was way too short for this
elderly lady. When it turned red, we were only halfway across. I
had to hold out my hand and stop cars while we crossed. Many
times in our lives we also have crosswalks to pass. They may be
difficult times, big decisions, illnesses, or even loss of loved ones.
It is during those times that we too need someone to hold our
hand as we cross those difficult crosswalks in life. Paul said to the
church in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Praise be to the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all
comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can
comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have
received from God.” If you are in need of a helping hand, reach out
to a brother in the church for comfort. If you see a brother or sister
in need, reach out to them. For just as Christ has comforted us, so
are we to comfort others in “any” trouble with the comfort we have
ourselves received from God! Be blessed this week as we reach out
to God, each other, and a lost world!
