牧者心聲 Pastor's Message
09/27/2009
This week I had the privilege to attend a pastor’s
retreat where around 9 pastors gathered together to discuss
what God is doing in our lives, and in the lives of our
churches. It was great to get to hear these other pastors, and
all that God had taught them, and how they are still in need
of Jesus each and every day. It was a blessing as well as an
encouragement! One great discussion we had at about 11:30
at night was the question of why each of us in that room had
given our entire lives to Jesus, including our vocation, our
talents, our families, and every single thing in our lives. What
took place to make each and every one of us turn to Jesus
and follow him down the road of being on mission for Him?
My answer was simple: When I was in college, I found God.
He was, and is, so real to me that I gave up everything and
follow Him to this day. I truly met God, and I cannot deny
that I know Him, and that is why I am Christian. Then we
began to discuss why it seems some people, even in the
church, haven’t given up everything in their lives to follow
Jesus. The only answer I could come up with is that those
people have never known Jesus, or else their lives would
reflect Him. If you have truly met Jesus, the same Jesus I
know, then your lives will truly reflect Him. You will give up
everything to follow one person, Jesus! Jesus said in
Matthew 10:38-39 “and anyone who does not take his cross
and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his life
will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find
it.” If you don’t see any radical change in your life, perhaps
you should question if you really know Jesus. If you don’t
know Him, now is the time to choose Him and live! I hope
you have a blessed week as we continue on our faith walk
with Christ, our Savior!
