牧者心聲 Pastor's Message
05/10/2009
The sacrifice Christ made for us is an act we are to
remember for the rest of our lives. Not in guilt, even though we are
guilty of sin, but in our utmost thankfulness, we can give our most
heartfelt praise to him in all that we do. In our speech, actions,
even appearance, these are all ways to display to Christ that we are
His ― living sacrifices that are holy and acceptable to Him.
(Romans 12.1)
This reminds me of my recent trip to Europe and how
saying “Thank You” is important in every language. Here’s a few
examples: Merci. Gracias. Grazie. Danke. Děkuji. Dank U. When
someone does something for you, the response is appreciation for
the work they have done. It is compelling to see that the words:
mercy and grace, are used as verbal ways of showing gratitude.
The definitions of these words are “compassion/favor shown to
someone who may or may not deserve it.”
With Mother’s Day upon us, we are reminded once again to
say “Thank You” and show other forms of appreciation to our
mothers, grandmothers, and other mother figures we have had in
our lives. This is the least we can do, for they have done and
sacrificed so much for us. And as we do, we can also thank our
Heavenly Father for our mothers as well! Amen!
