牧者心聲  Pastor's Message

12/28/2008

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-7) These are the words Paul gave to the church in Corinth, encouraging them to give as a church to those in need. This year I want to send out the same encouragement to our church. My challenge to us as a church is to give. Give not just in financial terms, but give your time, your skills, your encouragement, your prayers, to the ministry God has called us to do as a church. In December 2009, I hope we can look back as a church and say: “wow, it was a good year of giving and meeting the needs of our community!” I ask you to read and meditate on 2 Corinthians and know the promises of the Word of God. Paul says, “You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” (2 Corinthians 9:11) I believe these words, and now I pray we are excited as a church to put them into practice in 2009. May you be blessed as we celebrate the coming of the New Year!

God bless,

Brother John J.
